Iovine and Young Center (IYC) students at Frederick Douglass High School in Atlanta receive an innovative education, immerse themselves in a Challenge-Based Learning curriculum, and develop important business skills while solving real-world prompts and creating concepts for IYC industry partner organizations.

With the inclusive design learning framework, USC Iovine and Young Academy students can collaborate, visualize, and communicate their ideas. Professor Davina Wolter shares how the Academy provides students with this academic experience.

Iovine and Young Hall, the epicenter of the USC Iovine and Young Academy at the University of Southern California, officially opened its doors in 2019. Jimmy Iovine and others spoke at the grand opening ceremony to welcome students and faculty members to the Academy’s new space.

The Iovine and Young Center (IYC) in Atlanta opened in the fall of 2024. Students at IYC receive an interdisciplinary education in entrepreneurship, design, and technology that helps set them up for their future careers.

The USC Iovine and Young Academy’s Master of Science in Integrated Design, Business and Technology employs IYA’s signature challenge-based, reflective learning model. In this program, Academy graduate students become adaptive thinkers and acquire skills they can apply to several industries.

Former music executive Jimmy Iovine and hip-hop producer Andre “Dr. Dre” Young have transformed education curricula. The USC Iovine and Young Academy and the Iovine and Young Center (IYC) opened their doors in 2014 and 2022, respectively. Academy and IYC students can learn more about innovation and business.
